Introduction to Computer Forensics

Description

This course introduces the concept of computer forensics and the pertinent knowledge needed to conduct a computer forensics investigation. Throughout the course, students will be taught the pertinent steps in collecting, analyzing, recovering, and reporting forensic evidence. Investigative techniques will be taught throughout the course with the ultimate goal of being able to identify and store evidence from a computer. Other topics include recovering deleted data, encryption, and damaged files. Students will be taught about the sensitivity and carefulness that must be exhibited in the entire computer forensic process since this material could be used as evidence in legal proceedings.
