Description
Organic Chemistry I is the first course of a two-semester sequence in Organic Chemistry for students majoring in science or studying for careers in allied health professions such as medicine, pharmacy, nursing. The course covers the fundamental concepts of organic chemistry integrated with the essential features of medicinal chemistry and biochemistry. Topics covered include nomenclature, types of reactions, reaction mechanisms, the principles of synthesis, methods of characterization, and application to the life sciences, to our everyday lives.
